PRIVACY POLICY

Who we are

MindGame Movement Foundation is a nonprofit working on mental health in athletics, based in California in the United States. Our registered legal name is MindGame Movement Foundation and our EIN is 39-3359465. This policy covers mindgamemovement.com. To reach us about anything in it, use our contact page.

The short version

We collect as little as possible. We do not sell or rent your information, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles. Two things collect data: our newsletter sign-up form, and donations, which are handled entirely by Givebutter and never touch our servers.

What we collect

When you sign up for our newsletter, we ask for:

• Your email address.
• The role you select (athlete, coach, parent or other), so we can send you relevant material.

That is all we ask for. We do not ask for your name, your age, your school or your team, and we do not ask you to describe your mental health.

When you donate, you are taken to Givebutter, our payment processor. Your donation and any details you give during checkout are collected and held by Givebutter under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number or bank details.

Information collected automatically

Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard server request data such as IP address, browser type, page requested and timestamp, in order to serve the site and protect it from attack. We do not run Google Analytics or any comparable advertising or analytics tracker, and this site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To send you the newsletter you asked for.
• To keep a record of donations, for accounting and for thanking donors.
• To keep the site running, secure and available.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that operate this site and process donations, and only what they need in order to do it.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier for you, and does not follow you to other websites. It tells us that a page was viewed, not who viewed it, so there is nothing here that identifies you and nothing you need to opt out of.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and we delete the record when you do. We keep donation records for at least ten years, in line with the record retention standard California nonprofits follow for financial records, and permanently where a gift is restricted or endowed. Server request logs are kept briefly and then discarded.

Your choices and your rights

Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us using the contact details on our contact page and we will respond. Depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights, including the right to complain to a regulator. That applies in the EEA, the UK, and US states with a privacy statute such as California.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Many of the athletes we serve are minors, so if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Donations are processed by Givebutter, which maintains its own payment security standards. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If we change this policy we will publish the updated version here. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter.
